Material and rust prevention performance of carbon steel flange casting

People who have heard of carbon steel flanges know that their material casting is very complex. In terms of its material, carbon steel is also different from some other types of steel, as its performance is better than that of actual steel. So a good flange is mostly made of carbon steel, also known as carbon steel flange. Carbon steel generally contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other substances in addition to carbon, so it has its own properties in terms of material.

The material of carbon steel flanges is not intended to be carbon steel, but as we all know, the rust prevention performance of carbon steel is relatively poor, and it is more susceptible to corrosion from external factors, which affects the performance of carbon steel flanges. So carbon steel flanges need to undergo some rust prevention treatment during production before they can be put into use. The commonly used anti rust treatments are mainly divided into metal plating or brushing anti rust paint.

Compared to carbon steel flanges, carbon steel flanges require materials with smooth, tensile, compressive, and torsional properties. They can be used in high-pressure environments without twisting or deforming. Because carbon steel itself has few burrs, its friction force is also very low, making it suitable for use in equipment.

In addition, carbon steel flanges must be produced and manufactured strictly in accordance with relevant industry standards. Unqualified materials must not be used for production, and cutting corners in size is not allowed. These opportunistic methods can lead to inferior and unqualified products, causing malfunctions in the entire flange system, and even causing property and economic losses as well as personnel injuries and other accidents.
